During this year’s inVest48, we heard from Senator Sherrod Brown (D-Cleveland), Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (D-Blacklick), and now-former Congressman Steve Stivers (R-Upper Arlington) as they all shared a common message. Each one of them praised credit unions for continuing to support members, particularly over the last year. The personal stories of how your credit union goes above and beyond are impactful and make a huge difference when connecting with legislators. So how can you ensure that our elected officials hear your credit union story?

First, ensure your members are represented by updating your Project Zip Code numbers today. Elected officials are always surprised to hear just how many credit union members there are in the state and, specifically, in their districts. Second, sign up for the League’s grassroots tool, VoterVoice. The next time there is a pressing legislative issue, you can submit or customize a pre-written email and send it to your elected officials with the click of a button.

If you have questions regarding either platform or would like to know how else you can get involved, contact the League’s Senior Manager of Political and Grassroots Affairs, Andrew Canan, or Advocacy Coordinator, Jamila Collins.

Contact Andrew Canan or Jamila Collins for questions or assistance.
