Credit unions connecting with legislators is a hole-in-one

Relationship building is critical to advocacy success which is why the League partnered with 7 17 Credit Union to again host the Northeast Ohio Legislative Forum and Golf Outing. A brainchild of 7 17 President/CEO Gary Soukenik and other Mahoning Valley credit union leaders, this year’s event connected legislators and credit unions from across Northeast Ohio.

This will be the last golf outing held before Gary’s retirement later this year. Joining the event were State Senator Kent Smith (D-Euclid) as well as State Representatives Joe Miller (D-Amherst), Bill Roemer (R-Richfield), and Dan Troy (D-Willowick). With much better weather than last year’s event, it was a perfect day for a round of golf, culminating in a robust conversation over lunch regarding the community impact that credit unions drive to lift up all people, families, businesses, and communities.
