Collections & Bankruptcy Conference

May 21 at 8:30 am4:15 pm

Are you prepared for rising delinquency rates?

Delinquencies are rising. Whether it’s because the pandemic era free money is running out, because interest rates are going up, because consumers are facing increased rental prices – or because of all of those things – credit card, auto and even mortgage delinquency rates are starting to climb and credit unions need to be prepared.

On May 21, 2024, credit union attorney Eric North will return to Columbus to present this year’s Ohio League Collections & Bankruptcy Conference. A variety of industry trends and legal issues will be discussed, but targeted topics include:

  • Ohio Repossessions: What credit unions do right and do wrong, and how it can affect you.
  • GAP Insurance: What is the big problem with GAP – especially GAP sold through auto dealers – no one is talking about?
  • Bankruptcy Preferences: How your credit union can be hurt or helped by “preference” rules and how to minimize risk of loss.
  • Denial of Credit Union Services and Expulsion: Must your credit union continue to serve a member who defaults?

Eric is also open to discussing any collection- or bankruptcy-related questions you may have!
