This scholarship grant honors Ohio native and state and U.S. credit union pioneer Louise McCarren Herring, who organized more than 500 credit unions and was the first full-time managing director of the Ohio Credit Union League. Funds are available to cover registration, which includes tuition and lodging, for the DE training. You’ll connect the credit union past with the present by exploring the cooperative business model and social responsibility, at this event hosted by the National Credit Union Foundation. Talk about an excellent professional development and personal enrichment opportunity!

American Share Insurance funded the initial endowment for the Louise McCarren Herring Development Education (DE) Scholarship. The DE program brings renewed relevance to the phrase, People Helping People. This intensive training program links credit unions’ past with their present, explores the cooperative business model and social responsibility, and is an excellent opportunity for career development and personal enrichment.

Please note:

  • Credit unions will be reimbursed after the event is successfully completed and a grant results report is received.
  • Deadline for applications is 30 days before the DE training.
