April is a great month to remind members about the importance of saving since it is both National Credit Union Youth Month and National Financial Literacy Month. The League is offering credit unions free resources to help members lay the foundation for financial success.
Credit unions take financial well-being seriously all year long, but April provides additional opportunities to raise awareness for the importance of developing healthy money habits early in life.
When members learn the importance of saving for a rainy day they are taking steps to reach personal financial goals, whether that is saving for a car, college, or a future emergency.
The educational messages focus on topics such as helping children set savings goals, opening a youth credit union savings account, and how to save at home. The supporting National Credit Union Youth Month “Save Away for a Rainy Day” materials include:
- Program logo
- Social media graphics and web banners
- Coloring page, crossword puzzle, word search, and posters
Download the resources here to help younger members set healthy habits and chart a path to future financial well-being.
