Equipping children and teens with basic financial skills is critically important as they near adulthood, and credit unions looking to make a difference can apply for a grant to assist with that goal.

The National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF) has funds available for credit unions of any asset size that have a desire to build programs to support children in foster care and help them acquire basic knowledge in budgeting, credit, and banking solutions.

Eligible credit unions will have the ability to open savings and checking accounts for this demographic while also providing timely financial education and well-being information for youth before they age out of the foster care system.

Credit unions may apply for NCFU funding through this link. The deadline for applications is the close of business on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024. Learn more.
