A coalition of Ohio real estate and financial organizations have joined forces in support of Senate Bill 24, Ohio’s First-Time Homebuyer Savings Act. The League supported this legislation to empower Ohioans to finance the American Dream of homeownership through your credit union. Introduced by Senator Theresa Gavarone (R-Bowling Green) and Senator Bob Peterson (R-Washington Court House), this bill would allow first-time homebuyers authority to open a tax-deductible savings account in which a person can deposit money that would be used toward a down payment of a home purchased in Ohio. Read the entire joint press release here and reach out to League Communications Manager Sean Fink with any questions.
