July Monthly Marketing Toolkit: mortgage affordability

Housing affordability remains a top challenge in Ohio, especially among underserved communities. In the current high interest rate, high price environment, it’s challenging for many people to afford a mortgage. The July Monthly Marketing Toolkit outlines sensible steps people can take to determine whether now is the right time to buy and how to prepare their finances to apply.

The toolkit also reviews Ohio homebuyer assistance programs that defray the cost of a mortgage and a unique savings program, the Ohio Homebuyer Plus Program. The League worked with the Ohio Treasurer’s Office to ensure credit unions could become approved public depositories for these linked deposit accounts. Since the program went live in January, 300 credit union accounts have been opened, representing $130 million in state deposits. If your credit union is interested in participating in this program, contact Jared Weiser on the League’s advocacy team.

The Monthly Marketing Toolkit is an exclusive benefit for members and can be used in your marketing and member outreach. Just insert your credit union’s name and use the content for your website, newsletters, and social media channels.
