League advocates for universal CU access to Fed programs

All credit unions, whether privately or federally insured, deserve equitable access to government services and programs. That’s why the League has teamed up with American Share Insurance and CUNA to ensure private-share credit unions can access liquidity offered through the Federal Reserve’s Bank Term Funding Program (BTFP). The BTFP was implemented in response to the recent bank failures to ensure depository institutions can continue to meet depositors’ needs. Currently, only federally-insured credit unions (both state and federally chartered) can access the program. We will continue working with Congressional Leaders and the Federal Reserve to ensure that all 43 privately-insured credit unions in Ohio have access to this critical program.
