League brings state elected officials and credit union leaders together

While your credit union focuses on what it does best, serving its members, your League is busy telling state elected officials about how financial cooperatives protect, promote, and advance people, families, businesses, and communities. Recently, the League facilitated a discussion between State Representative Marilyn John (R-Shelby) and Buckeye State Credit Union. Representative John grew up in a credit union family and has a deep appreciation for the work financial cooperatives do to help people achieve their dreams.

We had an excellent discussion about what credit unions are doing in their communities and how our members can partner with local schools to provide financial literacy education.

If you would like to build a relationship with your state legislative leader, reach out to the League’s Legislative Affairs Director, Jared Weiser, and he’ll work to get a branch tour or a meet-and-greet on the schedule.
