League offers feedback on ACH proposals

The continued digitization of the financial services marketplace is one reason members put a premium on the speed of service. As a result, both regulators and credit unions must push the envelope of what is possible without sacrificing institutional or member safety. The League submitted a comment letter on the National Automated Clearinghouse Association’s (NACHA) Request for Information on Faster ACH Topics, and Request for Comment on Same Day ACH. The League appreciates that NACHA prioritizes member service expediency and expanded access to funds but cautions against any rule that might jeopardize a credit union’s safety and soundness for the sake of a faster settlement. The League will continue to monitor these proposals as they move through the administrative process.
