League updates Congressman Mike Carey on interchange bill

A key element to your League’s dedication to 360-degree advocacy is bringing decision-makers and members together to discuss emerging and ongoing issues impacting how credit unions serve members. Last week, Central Ohio credit union leaders joined the League for a roundtable with Congressman Mike Carey (R-Ohio) to discuss the successes and challenges facing credit unions and their members in his district.

We also shared with the Congressman how the Credit Card Competition Act of 2023 (CCCA) will not only fail to create savings but also cost consumers more. While strong advocacy outreach successfully stopped the CCCA from being amended into the National Defense Authorization Act in the U.S. Senate, the interchange fight is just beginning. Are you interested in helping us combat this harmful legislation? Use this information to educate others on how consumers may be affected, and join us Sept. 12-14 for the annual Hike the Hill in Washington, D.C. Your voice matters.
