Do you have a great idea, project, or program that will spread financial education in your community or among your members and could use some financial assistance to make it a reality? Have you considered launching this new initiative in April, which is Financial Literacy month as well as Credit Union Youth month?

The Ohio Credit Union Foundation offers Financial Education grants to help credit unions implement programs within their communities that provide services and financial education to local schools, diverse populations, or members. Grants are awarded to Ohio-based credit unions on a bi-monthly cycle to ensure timely processing of the increasing number of applications received. Grant applications are accepted throughout the year, and notification of awards occurs bi-monthly.

Grant applications are evaluated on demonstrated and documented need, a meaningful contribution (direct or indirect financial and/or resources) to the project by the credit union, active participation in the project by the credit union, measurable impact on your target audience, and innovation with the potential for replication by other credit unions. Credit unions will be reimbursed after the project is successfully completed and a grant results report is received. Funds may not be used as a cash donation to a third party.
