Just as your credit union continues to operate in a challenging environment, the League continues to work directly with the Ohio General Assembly to promote and protect credit union interests at the Statehouse. With the legislative summer recess beginning, we’re hitting the ground running to ensure the following initiatives are successfully passed in the fall:
- Provide civil and class action litigation immunity protections for service providers, like credit unions, that remained open during the COVID-19 state of emergency through Senate Bill 308.
- Ease the credit union regulatory burden through House Bill 38, by modifying troublesome notification requirements during certain foreclosures.
- Protect credit unions from cyber-attacks with House Bill 368 which would modernize the state’s criminal code so prosecutors could better convict those found guilty of electronic theft, manipulation or tampering.
You can help us secure passage of these important issues simply by taking a few moments contact your legislators through VoterVoice. For more information on any of these key legislative initiatives, contact Director of Legislative and Political Affairs, Cory Fleming or Manager of Legislative and Political Advocacy, Andrew Canan.
