Every day, you and your peers make significant strides towards Credit Union Movement success. Our Leadership Recognition Program exists to recognize credit union impact and leadership. This awards program is evolving to allow credit unions greater opportunity to champion contributions that keep Ohio strong for its more than 3 million members.

Credit union recognition. To become eligible for CUNA’s national award selection, credit unions must submit at the state level in areas of social responsibility (Dora Maxwell Award), credit union philosophy (Louise Herring Award), and financial education (Desjardins Awards). To give credit unions every advantage to be selected, Ohio has extended its submission deadline to May 30 to reflect CUNA’s national submission deadline. Those selected in Ohio will receive personalized recognition at their credit union and be automatically forwarded to the national round for consideration. National winners will be announced in late fall and recognized at the CUNA Government Affairs Conference in 2021.

Individual recognition. The League uniquely designates awards on an annual basis for Ohio leaders nominated by their peers for excellence in long-lasting movement contribution (Louise McCarren Herring Movement Advancement Award), professional excellence (Robert Kloss Professional Achievement Award), and exceptional advocacy (Claude Clarke Advocacy Impact Award). Entries are due March 20. In addition to honoring those inducted into the William A. Herring Society, these recipients will be recognized by an audience of their peers at inVest48 April 13-15 in Columbus.

All nominations can be entered online via the CUNA-League award submission platform. Simply visit the platform, create a username and password, and submit your nomination. If you have questions or would like additional information, please contact Manager of Culture and Development Melanie Koch.
