For twenty-five years, the Ohio Credit Union Foundation (OCUF) has been supporting educational and outreach initiatives that promote financial independence through credit unions. This commitment has resulted in nearly $4.5 million dollars granted to Ohio’s credit union communities since the Foundation’s founding.
Since 1998, the OCUF has been changing the lives of individuals and families in the communities where credit unions serve. In the last 25 years, the Foundation has donated more than $743,000 for disaster assistance at home in Ohio and around the world and has provided nearly $212,000 in college scholarships. In 2022 alone, the Ohio Credit Union Foundation awarded more than $292,000 in credit union grants and scholarships to deserving students.
In 2021, the Foundation launched its “New Beginnings” grant program, a wonderful example of its commitment to strengthening communities and removing obstacles through credit union partnerships. This program provides much-needed support to individuals re-entering the workforce, helping them on their way to financial empowerment. The Foundation has made a difference in the lives of so many individuals over the last quarter-century. It is exciting to think about what the Foundation will accomplish over the next 25 years and beyond!
