The League is constantly letting members of Congress know how proposed legislation will impact Ohio’s 222 financial cooperatives. That’s why the League recently partnered with the Ohio Bankers League to champion legislation that will empower Ohio’s financial institutions to provide services to the legal Ohio cannabis and cannabis-related industry. Ohio’s own Congressman Dave Joyce (R-Bainbridge Twp.) is again leading the charge on this crucial issue as the lead sponsor of the 2023 SAFE Banking Act.

We also connected with Congresswoman Beatty to recognize her tireless efforts to advocate for financial literacy education. She recently re-launched and was named co-chair of the Congressional Financial Literacy and Wealth Creation Caucus for the 118th Congress. Congresswoman Beatty also co-sponsored the Student Empowerment and Financial Literacy Act. This legislation will ensure that all Ohioans have the necessary tools to make informed financial decisions.

The League will continue to keep you informed as these bills move through the legislative process.
