For nearly nine decades, the Ohio Credit Union League has supported the success and common promotion of Ohio credit unions through advocacy, expertise, collaboration, and advice. As we celebrate our 89th anniversary on Sept. 29, it’s a great moment to reflect on the League’s journey, its transformation, and the impact made on the Ohio Credit Union Movement.

Founded in 1934 by 25 Ohio credit union representatives in Columbus, the League was created to serve the young and growing Ohio Credit Union Movement. Despite challenging economic times and a world war, Ohio’s credit unions and their League quickly grew into thriving service-first organizations. From its humble beginnings as a news resource to a support network that evolved into establishing chapters and advocating for credit union authorities, the League has always focused on being a catalyst for unity, collaboration, a collective voice, and the cooperative spirit to uplift communities through Ohio credit unions.

Through its decades-long commitment to advocacy, support, service, education, and engagement, the League has transformed its relevance to Ohio credit unions with a clear vision of the future. Your trust and partnership stand as a shining example of how the Sixth Cooperative Principle, or cooperation among cooperatives, can positively make a difference across the state.

The Ohio Credit Union League is proud of its 89 years of service to Ohio credit unions, and we look forward to working together to empower individuals, support communities, and foster financial well-being for 89 more. Thank you for your membership and partnership in helping the Ohio Credit Union Movement grow and succeed. We are better together!
