Earlier this month, the League and member credit unions helped celebrate National Credit Union Foundation’s DE Day of Service. In this nationwide event, Credit Union Development Educators (DEs) focus on making a positive impact in their communities.
DEs from CSE FCU, Buckeye State CU, Unity Catholic FCU, Towpath CU, Corporate One FCU, Bridge CU, and State Highway Patrol FCU worked with DEs from Marketing Solutions Unlimited, CU Collaborate, the Ohio Credit Union League and Carol Middaugh Consulting at both the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank and the Mid-Ohio Food Collective.
Additionally, central Ohio DEs raised $750 for the Feed and Read program, an Ohio-based non-profit that provides food and books for 85 families every week and donates additional food to food pantries in Athens, Ohio.
Justin Frazier, Community Outreach Coordinator at CSE FCU and current DE committee leader, said about the day, “It was truly an inspiring day, not only because of the incredible people involved but also because of the meaningful impact we made in the communities we served. Just a few hours of our time can make a lasting difference for those near and far. I hope the experience serves as a powerful reminder of the credit union mission: to improve the lives of our members and the communities we serve.”
There are currently 61 Ohio DEs. If you are a DE and want to get more involved, please email Justin at jfrazier@csefcu.com.
