There’s nothing quite like coming together in Washington, D.C., to advocate for the financial well-being of more than 3.1 million members. This past week, the League and dozens of Ohio credit unions joined thousands of credit union leaders from across the country at the 2022 CUNA GAC. This impactful conference further fueled our member’s passion for serving others through Movement advocacy.
We experienced insightful keynoters, expert speakers, and innovative partners during GAC. We also advocated for modernized credit unions, asked for enhanced service authorities, and demanded an empowering environment to deliver solutions that meet members where they are. Telling our member’s unique stories is an essential building block to advocacy success; thank you to everyone who attended and for moving the needle by offering your extraordinary examples and compelling experiences. Check out the League’s Twitter (@WeAreOCUL) and Facebook page for highlights from the event.
Relentless credit union advocacy is not possible without your support and steadfast commitment. While the 2022 CUNA GAC is over, you can continue championing financial cooperatives by:
- Attending inVest48 (April 4 – 6, 2022) to hear from credit union advocacy experts like Ohio Credit Union League President Paul Mercer, CUNA President and CEO Jim Nussle, and Executive Director of the National Credit Union Foundation Gigi Hyland.
- Updating Project ZIP Code. Elected officials need to know about your growth and presence in their communities, so make sure every one of your members is counted by updating today.
- Heading back to Washington, D.C. Mark your calendars now for the annual Hill hike Sept. 12-14, 2022.
The partnership between CUNA, the League, and most importantly, Ohio credit unions makes Movement progress possible. If you would like more information about federal advocacy efforts, please contact Legislative Affairs Director Jared Weiser.
