A key part of advocacy success is building and sustaining relationships with decision-makers who help advance credit unions. Thanks to the incredible 2023 member support of League PACs, we can ensure that credit unions have a seat at the table when key policy decisions are made, such as interchange legislation.
Following a strong first quarter, nearly $162,000 was raised for League PACs through the second quarter—$12,000 more than in the same period last year—with $137,000 already disbursed. These funds allow the League and your credit union peers across the state to connect with state and federal decision-makers, and build key relationships that will drive success for years to come.
Recently, your credit union peers were able to connect in-district with State Reps. Kevin Miller (R-Newark) and Joe Miller (D-Amherst). Both serve on the Ohio House Finance Committee which is tasked with overseeing the state operating budget in the Ohio House.
With a strong start through the first half of the year, the League’s year-end PAC fundraising goal of $355,000 is in sight. If you’re interested in making a one-time contribution to boost the PACs, you can do so here. In addition, League staff are available to provide an advocacy update to your staff and act as a resource for your advocacy questions.
