Cooperation among cooperatives is the seventh cooperative principle, and one area it shines through is the support of the League’s advocacy efforts and political action committees (PACs). Thanks to your continued and generous support, the League PACs were able to raise more than $317,000 combined in 2023—the highest amount in three years. These dollars were raised from more than 2,400 individual contributors through more than 35,000 contributions, with an average donation of $8.71. This is a commendable example of how people working together deliver results.

This will be a busy and influential election for Ohio’s credit unions. The fall election will include races for the U.S. Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee Chairman, Senator Sherrod Brown (D-Cleveland), and every member of the U.S. House of Representatives and Ohio House of Representatives will be on the ballot. The League will be connecting with elected officials and candidates across the state; keep an eye out for opportunities to engage in this process and reach out to the Government Affairs team if you are interested in meeting with a candidate.
