Whether it is helping members gain greater financial awareness and well-being or digitizing their experience, Ohio credit unions continue to meet member needs. The League is committed to advocating for your ability to provide greater service and helping you tell your credit union’s story, which is why we recently testified on pending Ohio legislative priorities that would further empower credit unions to help their members achieve financial well-being and provide convenient service through the following initiatives:
- Helping first-time homebuyers better plan for and secure affordable mortgage financing through financially responsible and consumer-friendly financial cooperatives; the legislature can better help Ohioans more affordably achieve the American dream of homeownership through the First-time Homebuyers Savings Act.
- Credit unions already dedicate much of their mission to further empower young Ohioans through financial literacy; the state must encourage greater financial literacy opportunities for students across the state to guide Ohioans towards a path of greater financial wellness.
- Modernizing recording transactions is essential to a streamlined digital member experience; the ongoing remote service environment experienced across the business community continues to highlight the need for a consistent local government process to record electronic property transactions.
The League will continue sharing with state legislators how Ohio credit unions remain dedicated financial partners to one out of four Ohioans, promoting economic mobility to protect and enhance communities.
